The CCM® Plastic/Metal Liquid Glass Coating 7656 has successfully passed an independent laboratory test for residues of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). The analysis was carried out in May 2025 by SGS Belgium NV – Institute for Applied Chromatography.
Background of the test
Amid growing regulatory scrutiny around PFAS—particularly in sensitive sectors such as automotive and medical technology—CCM® 7656 was tested in a real-world application:
A stainless steel membrane (316L, 5 µm), commonly used in filtration systems, was coated with CCM® 7656 and analyzed for PFAS content.
Test environment
The examination included:
- Two samples: untreated and coated stainless steel membranes
- Testing method: CMA/3/D-compliant analysis of over 30 individual PFAS
- Target substances: including PFOA, PFOS, PFHxA, 6:2 FTS, DiPAP
- Reference limits: in line with EU Regulation (EU) 2024/2462 (e.g., 25 ppb for PFOA/PFOS)
results
The CCM® 7656-coated sample showed:
- No exceedance of detection limits for individual PFAS
- A total PFAS concentration of just 3.3 µg/kg (3.3 ppb) – well below applicable thresholds
- Neither PFOA nor PFOS were detectable
The test result confirms the PFAS compliance of CCM® 7656 when applied to stainless steel substrates.
CCM® 7656 not only delivers outstanding protective and repellent performance – it also meets the highest standards of chemical safety, both now and in anticipation of future PFAS legislation.
